Melinda Fry, M.Ed., LPC
I
believe people have the ability to heal themselves, thus changing the
course of their lives -- to witness their journey is quite an honor.
Melinda
S. Fry is a licensed Professional Counselor centrally located in Maplewood,
MO. She maintains a full-time private practice specializing in trauma
resolution, life transitions, and identity exploration. Ms. Fry works with
both individuals and couples privately and leads the introduction and
intermediate Self-Nurturing, Anger and Problem-Solving (SNAP) courses
offered at Meramec Counseling. She has an eclectic style and believes in
tailoring therapy to the individual’s needs and goals.
Ms.
Fry earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the
University of Memphis and a Masters of Education with an emphasis in
Counseling from the University of Missouri. She is trained in Internal
Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and
Reprocessing (EMDR) for resolving traumatic experiences. She also has
advanced training in divorce mediation.
Ms. Fry
is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Internal Family
Systems Association (IFSA), and EMDR International Association (EMDRIA).
Donna Kitchen, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
In private practice since January or 1974, Donna has been
practicing therapy for almost 30 years. She earned her Bachelor of Arts
degree from Douglass College (Rutgers University) in New Jersey in 1969 and
her Masters in Social Work from George Warren Brown School of Social Work at
Washington University, St. Louis, MO, in 1973. She worked for one year at
Lutheran Family and Children’s Services and had an opportunity to enter
private practice shortly thereafter. She became licensed by the State of
Missouri the year that Missouri began requiring licensure.
Donna’s original training was in Transactional Analysis,
cognitive-behavioral and group therapy. From the 1980's she trained
extensively with David Grove, M.S., who is the originator of a unique style
of therapy which helps people resolve traumatic memories. (See spatial
metaphor article.) For the past ten years Donna also trained extensively
with Donna Eden, the originator of Energy Medicine (see Link to
Innersource.net). Donna Eden teaches people how to help themselves and
others heal through balancing the energies of the body. Donna Kitchen has
taken courses in Touch for Health to bolster her ability to do energy work.
Donna loves that she can now use her unique combination of energy work,
metaphor work and combine those with her original training to provide a
holistic approach in her therapy.
Donna does Individual, Couple and Group Counseling. All
sessions including Energy Sessions are 50 minutes.
Margie Lewitt, B.S.
Margie recently joined
the staff at Meramec Counseling to assist in front office activities and
